Mat Gleason founded the highly controversial Coagula Art Journal, which ran from 1992 to 2010 and is archived in the Museum of Modern Art, New York. He was art critic for The Huffington Post from 2010 to 2018 and opened his commercial gallery Coagula Curatorial in 2012. From 2015 to 2018 Gleason hosted “Modern Art Blitz”, a streaming internet series of sit-down interviews with over 200 artists. He has appeared as an art critic on several tv shows including “Art Or Not?", “Jeff Koons: Beyond Heaven" and "Skin Wars: Fresh Paint” hosted by Ru-Paul. Most recently, he appeared in the on-demand streaming film “Skin: A History of Nudity in the Movies” offering Art Historical commentary (available to watch now). In 2019 Mat transitioned to publishing art editions with Los Angeles master printer Abel Alejandre as Coagula Editions.
